Miqra is a subsidiary owned by Tassel and registered under the laws of the Republic of Kenya. In these policies, ‘Miqra’, ‘we’ and ‘us’ refer to Miqra and Tassel as its operator.
This agreement governs your use of Miqra’s website, accounts and digital marketplace. Read it together with our Publishing Policy, Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
Keep your account details accurate and your sign-in details private. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Tell us at support@miqra.si if you believe someone has accessed it without permission.
1. Miqra’s content
Your licence. When you purchase a digital work, its rights holder grants you a non-exclusive licence to access and use it for your own reading, listening, study and practice, subject to the product description and any accompanying licence. Buying access does not transfer copyright. A wider organisational, classroom or redistribution licence must be expressly granted by the rights holder.
Restrictions. Unless the rights holder expressly permits it, do not sell, rent, sublicense, broadcast, publicly upload or redistribute the work, share paid access with others, remove ownership notices or bypass access controls. Your purchase is not permission to reproduce an author’s work as your own.
Refunds. Eligible purchases are covered by our Refund Policy: requests within 30 days for unused/unread works, with separate provisions for faulty-file replacements and discounted purchases. Contact Miqra rather than arranging a refund directly with a vendor.
2. Use of Miqra’s website and accounts
Use only the features made available through your account. Upload, list or distribute content only where you have the necessary rights and permission. Publishing and selling are also subject to our Publishing Policy and editorial review; creating an account does not guarantee that a work will be accepted.
Do not use Miqra to distribute unlawful material, child exploitation, pornography, incitement to hatred or violence, or material that infringes intellectual property, privacy or confidentiality. Do not impersonate another person, misrepresent a work or its authorship, misuse another user’s information or interfere with the platform’s operation.
You remain responsible for material you submit and communications you send. Miqra may investigate suspected misuse and restrict or remove offending listings, content or associated metadata. Permission to share one work does not grant permission to share another.
3. General terms
Information and privacy. We process account, order and website-use information as described in our Privacy Policy.
Information you disclose. Consider what you share in public reviews, profiles or communications with vendors and other users. Third parties are responsible for their own handling of information you give them, subject to applicable law.
Suspension and termination. We may suspend or end access where an account is used fraudulently, unlawfully or in material breach of these terms. You must stop any unauthorised use. This does not remove payment obligations or other responsibilities that arose before termination, or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. A failure to enforce a term on one occasion does not waive it.
Changes. We may update the service and these terms. Revised terms will be posted on this page, with notice of material changes through appropriate account or contact channels. Continued use after the revised terms take effect is subject to those terms.
Responsibility and lawful rights. Creators remain responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of their works. Miqra does not promise that purchasing a resource will produce a particular personal, professional or financial result. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
Disputes and governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. First contact us so that we can try to resolve a dispute through negotiation. If negotiation does not resolve it, the parties may refer it to a sole arbitrator agreed between them; failing agreement on the arbitrator, either party may request an appointment by the Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Kenya Branch). An arbitration award is binding subject to applicable law and non-excludable rights.
Contact. Questions about these terms can be sent to support@miqra.si.
